On behalf of the International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy (ISSHP), we welcome our colleagues from around the world to the 16th World Congress of ISSHP to be held September 21-24, 2008, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, USA.  As in the past, we are delighted that our meeting will be coordinated with that of the International Society of Obstetric Medicine (ISOM), which will be held in the same venue on September 21-22.

The organizing committee, along with the International Scientific Committees of ISSHP and ISOM are preparing a comprehensive and exciting program of pre-Congress courses, the ISOM meeting and the 16th World Congress of ISSHP; we invite active participation by interested clinicians, scientists, and trainees.

We are thrilled to host the ISSHP World Congress as it returns to the United States for the first time since 1996.  Washington, DC is a vibrant, safe, and easily accessible national capitol city and cultural center.  Our city is beautiful and its weather pleasant in early autumn.  Please join us for a productive and exciting meeting in a warm and welcoming city.
